GATE: FREE ADMISSION Band Schedule - To be announced This is how it plays out: Local bands donate their time and talent and fill the air with three days of non-stop music on three stages. Many of last year's favorite bands will be back with a few surprises. If you get thirsty, there's a variety of beverages, if you get hungry, there'll be food ... including a Rib Cook-Off contest on Saturday, November 15th! It's about the kids! Remember! All proceeds are used to purchase musical instruments for local schools. The schools give us a wish list and we try to fill it. Once the instrument is purchased for the school, it stays there for future students. This is why F.A.M.E. exists. Why do we call our event F.A.M.E. Presents Music City? Because we actually build a city within the event area. Each year we add another building in our city. City? What? Yes, from Whiskey Corners, (a former Englewood landmark that was located at Placida and South McCall Road) to Hotel California (reflecting Englewood's on Dearborn). Also, The Gulf Cove Moose lodge will be back with their spectacular store front. Mike, a Moose member, is the talented designer and he says he has a few surprises this year! They have been keeping F.A.M.E. on their toes by keeping the challenge going to see who out does the other in the store front area. Calling all businesses! Interested in learning more about being a storefront at Music City? The challenge is out there for any business that wants a promotional opportunity at this popular event. We waive the vendor fee if you participate in the city. E-mail Jim at jimpivovar@famesupportmusic.com. A proud community As a community, let us support the next generation of musicians. Let's support the kids! Music is a tool to enhance our children's educational experience and foster their academic, social, and emotionional growth. |
